New COVID-19 cases, deaths in southern Illinois

(WSIL) -- New COVID-19 cases were reported in southern Illinois Monday.

The Jackson County Health Department announced two additional deaths related to COVID-19.

The health department says a man in his 40s and a man in his 60s, who were both previously confirmed to have COVID-19, passed away.

There have been 319 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Jackson County, including 16 deaths. Health officials say 32 cases are still active and being managed.

In Williamson County, the Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health Department reported seven new cases of COVID-19.

  • Female: (2) children, one in their 20s, and one in their 60s
  • Male: one in their 20s, one in their 40s and one in their 50s

To date, there have been 90 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Williamson County and 12 confirmed cases in Franklin County. Of these positive cases, 61 have recovered in Williamson County and 12 have recovered in Franklin County.

Southern Seven Health Department also announced seven new COVID-19 cases in its region.

� Johnson County: One male under 10, one female 10s, one male 10s, one female 20s, one male 60s

� Union County: One male under 5, one male 30s

Southern Seven has had 275 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 15 deaths, in its area. Of the positive cases, 172 individuals have recovered.

The Perry County Health Department had one new case of COVID-19 Monday.

The health department says a woman in her 30s is the county's 44th confirmed case. Two of those cases are currently active.

In White County, health officials confirmed a third case of COVID-19.

Egyptian Health Department says a White County woman in her 40s is in isolation and doing well.

On Monday, the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) announced 473 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state, including 19 additional deaths.

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 133,016 cases, including 6,326 deaths, in 101 counties in Illinois.
