(WSIL) -- A modified stay at home order issued Thursday by Gov. JB Pritzker expands the acceptable reasons people can leave their homes during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"To engage in the free exercise of religion" has been added to the list.

The order says that doing so "must comply with Social Distancing Requirements and the limit of gatherings of more than ten people in keeping with CDC guidelines for the protection of public health. Religious organizations and houses of worship are encouraged to use online or drive-in services to protect health and safety of their congregants."

The language about free exercise of religion was not in the modified executive order when it was by Gov. Pritzker April 23.

The modified stay at home order is in place for the month of May. You can read the .
