(WSIL) -- Shawnee Community College announced Tuesday, the college will be hosting two job fairs to help provide folks with an opportunity to connect with local cannabis grower aeriz.
aeriz is the only aeroponic medical cannabis brand in both Arizona and Illinois, with a production facility located in Anna.
There will be two sessions held at the Shawnee Community College Anna Extension Center located at 1150 E Vienna St, Anna, IL. The first session is scheduled for Tuesday, August 17th, 1- 8 pm. And the second session is set for Saturday, August 21st, 10-2 pm.
The free event will begin with an orientation that outlines information about employment opportunities in the cannabis industry, expounding on the job description for entry-level positions, including growers, extractors, trimmers, delivery drivers, and several other open positions.
No registration is needed to attend the job fairs; however, registration is requested and can be completed by contacting [email protected] or call 618-634-3337. Employment candidates are encouraged to bring their resumes.
Shawnee Community College partners with aeriz to provide training for their prospective employees and assists with job placement and screening.
Leslie Cornelius-Weldon, Career Services Coordinator for Shawnee College, says, "We are really excited about making connections for people in our community, especially those that are actively looking for a job. aeriz is paying a great wage and provides stability to those in need of long-term employment."
