MURRAY, Ky. (WSIL) -- Two men were arrested in Murray, Kentucky after endangering a group of protesters and police officers.
Murray Police say a group of people conducted a peaceful protest and walk through town Tuesday.
During the event, officers responded to Main Street for a report of a man in a vehicle who pointed a firearm at protesters.
Officers located the vehicle and took John Dickerson, 55, of Paducah, into custody. He was charged with wanton endangerment.
As the protest continued, police stopped traffic to ensure the safety of participants.
As protesters were next to a stopped vehicle, police say David Fryemire, 53, of Murray, rolled down his window and sprayed pepper spray on multiple people, including five officers.
Police say Fryemire then tried to drive through the crowd of protesters and police but was stopped by officers.
Fryemire was charged with two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, three counts of fourth-degree assault, and five counts of third-degree assault.
The investigation is still ongoing.
Both Dickerson and Fryemire were booked into the Calloway County Jail.
