28-year-old man sought, faces assault charge in connection to shooting investigation

PADUCAH, Ky. -- Police in Paducah are looking for a man who they believe is a suspect in a shooting which took place over the weekend.

Paducah Police Department said their detectives are investigating a shooting which took place on the night of February 17, where two shots were fired during an argument.

The location of the shooting took place at the intersection of North 11th and Ellis Streets in Paducah at 10:12 p.m.

A male victim reportedly drove himself to the Baptist Health Hospital and was treated for a gunshot wound in the abdomen area.

James Fields, 28 of Hampton Street in Paducah, is alleged to be the shooter in this incident and left the scene before police arrived.

Fields has been charged with second-degree assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
