PADUCAH, Ky. (WSIL) -- A Paducah woman was arrested after being accused of bringing in items to an inmate in a jail and also accused of having an intimate relationship with an inmate.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office said jail employees received a tip about a contract employee, who was employed by a dining company, who they allege brought in contraband in the jail.

Detectives with the sheriff's office investigated. Investigators said Misty Young, 44 of Paducah, who was a contract employee and not employed by the jail, brought contraband into the jail to give to inmates. The sheriff's office also accused Young of engaging in an intimate relationship with an inmate while contracted as a kitchen worker.

Young was arrested and cited with Sexual Abuse 1st Degree, Promoting Contraband 2nd Degree, and Official Misconduct 2nd Degree. She was taken to the Ballard County Jail.
