Homicide investigation underway in Carbondale

Police have identified the victim as Jamonte Allison, 44, of Carbondale.

Investigators are looking for a dark-colored SUV, as well as a black four-door Dodge Charger.

CARBONDALE (WSIL) -- Carbondale Police are investigating a fatal shooting.

Officers were called to the 1000 block of North Robert A. Stalls Avenue around 6:20 p.m. Monday. There they discovered a gunshot victim and began resuscitation measures.

The victim was later pronounced dead at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

Police are not identifying the victim until family is notified.

Investigators do say the shooting is related to an incident earlier Monday on North Almond Street.

Police were called to the 900 block of North Almond Street around 3:30 p.m. Monday in response to shots fired. No one was injured, and no property was damaged.

Authorities say the two shootings are the result of an ongoing dispute between acquaintances.
