METROPOLIS, Ill. -- The Metropolis Police Department released an arrest report for the past two weeks, releasing information on a dozen incidents where officers responded to on various dates.

On October 26, officers with Metropolis Police Department (MPD) said they were called to a disturbance to a home on Security Drive. When officers got there, they said they saw a man being irrational and saying irrational things.

The man allegedly started grabbing and groping a female. The officers then told the man to stop and he also is alleged to have punched an officer in the face.

Officers then tased the man, identified as Travis C. Blanton, 31 of Metropolis, and took him into custody.

"Blanton advised that God makes him take Meth," MPD said in an arrest report.

The arrest report also said a paramedic was headbutted while Blanton was being transported to the hospital and another paramedic was kicked.

According to online court records, Blanton faces four aggravated battery charges and one obstructing a peace officer charge.

October 24, 2023

  • Metropolis Officers took a theft report from Fat Edd鈥檚 after a subject left without paying his bar tab. The investigation revealed that the subject was Richard C Scobie,53, Metropolis. Officers searched the area and located him behind Walgreen鈥檚. Scobie was arrested, processed and released on a notice to appear.

October 25, 2023

  • Kenneth L. Mitchell,42, Metropolis was arrested while hiding in a shed in the 1700 block of McCrary. Mitchell was wanted on warrants issued by Massac County. The warrants were for Battery and Violation of an order of protection. Mitchell was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

October 27, 2023

  • Kyle R. Harris,22, Brookport was arrested in the 600 block of Market St. Harris was wanted on warrants. There were 2 warrants issued by Massac County for Aggravated Domestic Battery. Harris was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

October 29, 2023

  • A Metropolis Officer observed a red Ford Edge being driven by Cesar V. Mounts,323, Metropolis. The officer was aware that Mounts had a suspended driver鈥檚 license. A traffic stop was made on 11th and Market. A computer check showed that Mounts still had a suspended license. He could not provide proof of insurance. Mounts was charged with driving while license suspended and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle. He was released on a notice to appear.
  • Metropolis Officers were called to a residence in the 1200 block of Baynes. Upon speaking with the victim, he stated he allowed Joshua K. Hunt,40, Homeless, to spend the night. The victim realized that Hunt had stolen some property that belonged to the victim鈥檚 deceased father. A MPD officer located Hunt walking down the street. Hunt was in possession of the property. Hunt was charged with theft and released on a notice to appear.
  • Eric Surgent,44, Clarksville TN was arrested in Harrah鈥檚 Casino. Surgent was wanted on warrants. The warrants were issued by Paducah, KY for ID Theft, Contempt of Court and Forgery. Surgent was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
  • Metropolis Officers were called to the Spence Apartments for a trespassing complaint. Izell Jones,45, Cairo was found inside one of the apartments. Jones had been previously trespassed from Massac County Housing. Jones was charged with Criminal Trespass to property and released on a notice to appear.

October 30, 2023

  • Aimee M. Cochrane,37, Paducah was arrested at the Phillips 66. Cochrane was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for FTA- DUI. Cochrane was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

October 31, 2023

  • On 10/21/23, a Metropolis Officer investigated the theft of an electric bike valued at $2600.00. During the course of the investigation, a suspect was identified. On 10/31/23, Lateshia M. Jackson,38, Metropolis was arrested for the theft at her residence on Grace Drive. Jackson was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

November 1, 2023

  • Metropolis Officers were dispatched to the area of McDonald鈥檚 in reference to a reckless driver. Upon arrival, Officers located the maroon Dodge Caravan. A computer check on the license plates revealed that the registered owner had a suspended driver鈥檚 license. A traffic stop was conducted. The driver, Timothy E. Stevens,41, Brookport was charged with driving while license suspended. He was released on a notice to appear.
  • Metropolis Police were called to the Rest Area at I-24. The caller stated a truck driver pointed a gun at him. Upon arrival, Officers learned that the victim an employee asked the driver to move his illegally parked semi. The driver pointed a handgun at him and left. It was seen entering I-24 eastbound. KY State Police and McCracken County Sheriff鈥檚 office were notified. The vehicle was located and stopped on I-24 at MM 13. A search located the handgun. Martavis D Duroseau,31, Miami FL was charged with unlawful use of a weapon and aggravated assault. He was released on a notice to appear.
