MOUNT VERNON, Ill. -- A 29-year-old was arrested a week after an armed robbery was reported in Mount Vernon.
Mount Vernon Police Department said they arrested Ashton Harper, 29 of Mount Vernon, on February 14, in connection to an armed robbery investigation along Rose Lane.
On February 7, detectives started investigating and a warrant was later issued for Harper.Â
Harper was reportedly taken into custody without incident and taken to the Jefferson County Jail.
He was reported to have been on Mandatory Supervised Release (parole) with the Illinois Department of Corrections during this time as well.
Harper faces charges of armed robbery and possession of intent to deliver 15-100g of methamphetamine.
