(WSIL) -- Construction of the new Franklin County Courthouse is now only weeks away.
In a meeting on Tuesday night, the Franklin County Board hired a contractor to begin its construction.
Commercial Contractor Fager McGee has agreed to build the 46,000 square foot structure and will cost the county over 12 and a half million dollars.
It's estimated the project will take 17 months to complete with construction expected to start in early September.
