PADUCAH, KY (WSIL) -- A 20-year-old western Kentucky man faces a murder charge after a shooting on Wednesday.
Officers got calls about a man running around the 1100 block of Hill Street in bloody clothes. Investigators say that man was Jamell L. Diaz, 20, of Paducah.
Paducah police later learned Diaz had shot Nikea Cope, 22, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, at a home on Hill Street.
Diaz told investigators he and Cope had been arguing when he got the gun "to scare her" and then shot her in the side.
Diaz is now in the McCracken County Jail
