SIKESTON, Mo. -- Three people are being treated for injuries after reportedly shot in Sikeston. Two others were taken in as suspects in regards to the incident on Saturday night.
Sikeston Department of Public Safety said around 11 p.m. on April 13, officers saw a large crowd around the area of Branum and Lara Streets in Sikeston.
Officers then responded to the scene. They reportedly heard some gun shots go off when trying to break up the large gathering of people.
Sikeston police officers took two suspects in custody.
Officers also found three people who were considered victims with gunshot wounds. Those three people were transported from the scene to be treated for injuries.
Police also said there were several vehicles which were hit by gunfire as well.
The SEMO Major Case Squad has been activated and are investigating this incident.Â
