HARDIN COUNTY (WSIL)---The first day of school can be stressful for everyone.
This year, the group Friends of Hardin County wanted to make things a little easier.
After a month of fundraising, Friends of Hardin County helped create the Back to School Bash. The group collected $4300 in donations, and were able to give free schools supplies to all students, kindergarten through grade 12.
Friends of Hardin County President and Vice President, Nadine Clark and Michelle Price, came up with the idea after seeing a need in the community.
"We do have a lot of poverty here, and I know myself, I have six kids, and people struggle. So we just kinda wanted to help out anywhere we could, and this was just an idea we had and the community came together really, really great for us," said Price.
Hardin County school will have their first day of classes on Wednesday.
