CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) hopes to bring discussions of environmental justice to our region.

On Monday, June 10, the EPA will host a virtual discussion to start community engagement. The program aims to support "open and inclusive dialogue" with the region's officials and leaders from around the nation, state and EPA.

During the discussion, the EPA will explain its new grant programs and technical assistance resources. The agency will then hear from locals to gauge what environmental factors have the biggest impact on our region.

The EPA hopes to hear from officials in smaller communities that have not been heard by their team before.

The first discussion is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Registration is required via the information on the flyer above.
