CARTERVILLE (WSIL) -- Friday night we enter week five of the high school football season.
This week we had some teams swap opponents.
It really feels like musical chairs and when it's all said and done Carterville may be left standing without a dance partner.
Carterville learned on Thursday, their game with Herrin is canceled. I reached out to Herrin and they had to opt out due to covid-related reasons.
Due to Duquoin having a positive covid case, Harrisburg didn't have an opponent but will now play Fairdield Friday at 7 PM. Mules were originally scheduled to play Viena Goreville.
Du Quoin played Nashville Monday night and the IHSA has a rule where you have to have 4 days in between games. Massac County wasn't available on Saturday so now the Patriots will play at Sparta Friday at 7 and Nashville will host Benton Saturday at noon.
