CARBONDALE, Ill. -- A body of a missing man was found in Carbondale on Thursday.
Authorities were out searching for 27-year-old Linell Gaston on Thursday in the area of the 1200-block of South Wall Street in Carbondale. Police in Carbondale, along with other agencies were out searching, via foot, vehicle and helicopter.
Carbondale Police Department stated Linell Gaston was found deceased.
Gaston was last seen on March 25. Family members have been conducting searches since he went missing and have been ramping up efforts to find him.
The City of Carbondale stated they extend their deepest sympathy to the family and loved ones of Gaston. They also appreciate all who helped searched for him.
Chief of Police and Acting City Manager Stan Reno said, “On behalf of the City of Carbondale, our thoughts are with the family and loved ones as they cope with this tragic loss. We will continue to work diligently on this investigation and ask anyone that may have information to contact the Carbondale Police Department.�
