Public Invited to Veterans Honor Flight #13 Welcome Home Ceremony

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. -- The community is ready to welcome home veterans as they are scheduled to come back to the Veteran's Airport in Williamson County on Tuesday night.

On Tuesday morning, News 3 was there as local veterans boarded the plane and took off to Washington D.C. The community came out and showed support as they flew on Flight 13.

The welcome home festivities start at 5 p.m. with plenty of food, fun and activities on hand.

From 5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m., the Daniels Brothers will be performing.

From 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m., Whiskey and Rust will take the stage.

The Welcome Home Celebration then kicks off at 8:45 p.m.

Buses to the airport start at 5 p.m. at Cornerstone and Sam's.

There will also be a Kids Zone with painting and inflatables at the welcome home celebration as well. Food trucks will also be there for the visitors.

The Veterans Honor Flight took off from the Veterans Airport in Marion on Tuesday morning.
