Cave-In-Rock Ferry Back Open After Winds Temporarily Closed Service on Wednesday

CAVE-IN-ROCK, IL (WSIL) -- UPDATE: 5:15 p.m. -- The Cave-in-Rock Ferry is back open, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

ORIGINAL: 11: 24 a.m. -- The Cave-in-Rock Ferry is temporarily closed due to high winds, halting service at about 11 a.m. on Wednesday.

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet - District 1 (KYTC) said winds were coming out of the west at about 20 mph with gusts to 29 mph.

Winds are forecasted to remain elevated throughout the day.

KYTC said the ferry will remain closed until further notice. The ferry will also provide timely notice as to when the ferry service will be back to normal.
