CARBONDALE, Ill. (WSIL) � Around 7 p.m. Monday, Carbondale Police say they received a report of someone being threatened by a group of males with firearms on the 400 block of East Ashley Street
Police say once they arrived, they saw 18-year-old Kashaad Johnson display a gun while in an argument with a driver.
Once encountering officers, Carbondale Police say Johnson tried to flee.Â
After a short foot chase, police say they apprehended Johnson and the gun he was holding at the time of the altercation.Â
While investigating, police say witnesses pointed them in the direction of a home where Johnson and the other suspects had entered.Â
While they were not able to locate the other suspects, Carbondale Police say they found a large amount of gun ammunition.Â
Johnson was arrested for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of firearms and firearms ammunition, and resisting a peace officer.Â
There is no word on if any of the other suspects will face charges.Â
