47-year-old seriously injured after vehicle hits tree

NEW MADRID, Mo. (WSIL) --One person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after the vehicle he was driving hit a tree on Friday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) said the crash happened on October 25 at 4 p.m. along County Road 405, roughly 10 miles east of New Madrid.

The MSHP reported a 47-year-old man from Sikeston was driving a 2006 Nissan Titan when the vehicle ran off the road and hit a tree.

The man was flown to a hospital in Memphis with serious injuries, the report stated.

The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene.
