One sent to hospital with multiple stab wounds, suspect at large

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (WSIL) -- Local officials are investigating a stabbing at the AC Brase Arena in Cape Girardeau, on April 20, where a man suffered multiple stab wounds.

Cape Girardeau Police said officers responded around 10 p.m. to the 400 block of Kiwanis Drive. They said they found the victim with injuries consistent with being stabbed.

Witnesses told police about an argument between two individuals which escalated. Police reported the suspect pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed the victim before fleeing the scene.

Medical personnel transported the victim to a local hospital for further treatment. The suspect remains at large.

Authorities are actively pursuing leads. They urge anyone with information to contact the Cape Girardeau Police Department at 573-335-6621.
