CARBONDALE (WSIL) -- Starting Friday, the art of the late Polly Winkler-Mitchell will be on display at Longbranch Cafe in Carbondale.
The art consists largely of a type of German paper cutting.
She began cutting paper after visiting a Matisse exhibit in St. Louis.
Her husband, Marion Mitchell, says it's important that his wife's art doesn't go to waste.
"Because I keep it, people will forget it, and it will just molder away. And, by putting it out where people can see it and buy it, it will be remembered, and my bias is I think it will appreciate in value," explains Mitchell.
The show runs through March 6th. The art is available for purchase any time the restaurant is open.
