CARTERVILLE Ill. (WSIL) -- It was a fantastic Friday. There was plenty of sunshine this afternoon with temperatures in the 80s. Hopefully you enjoyed the break from the rain. Off and on rain returns through the weekend.
Overnight and into Saturday morning the first chance for rain will move through. Widespread rain and a few rumbles of thunder are possible. An isolated storm or two will also be possible during the afternoon.
Widespread rainfall is expected again Saturday night and into Sunday as a cold front drops through. Rain should slowly taper off into the afternoon and evening. Isolated strong storms would be possible during this time frame. Strong winds, hail and very heavy rainfall will be concerns. Where storms travel over the same areas, localized flooding is likely.
High temperatures through the weekend will stay a smidge below average. Highs will top out near 80 degrees both Saturday and Sunday. Despite the chance for rain, there should still be sometime dry time to get outside and enjoy the mild temperatures.Â
