Doughnuts, smoothies, pizza, MoonPie, eyewear — brands are going all out-of-this-world with solar eclipse-themed goodies

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. -- Officials have issued a last-minute recall on some eclipse glasses.

The Illinois Department of Health says it learned of a brand of glasses that fail to meet safety standards for eclipse viewing. The brand raising concerns is the Biniki Solar Eclipse Glasses.

The glasses sold regionally at Perry County Marketplace in Pinckneyville, Steelville Marketplace in Steelville, and Big John Grocery in Metropolis. They were also a top seller on Amazon under the listing "AAS Approved 2024 -- CE & ISO Certified Safe Shades for Direct Sun Viewing."

The issued glasses have a label of EN ISO 12312-1:2022. Glasses safe to wear should have a label of 12312-2.

If you think you have these glasses, do not use them as they could cause permanent eye damage.
