MARION, Ill. -- A man was arrested Thursday night in relation to an armed robbery in Marion.Â
Damarco V. Stokes, 28, of Belvidere, was obtained by police for matching the description of a man who committed an armed robbery. The robbery took place at the ROC One Stop at 309 E. DeYoung Street.
Police met with an associate at the store who revealed the robbery included a knife. The robber left the store prior to police arrival with a sum of money.Â
Police found Stokes near Lincoln School not long after searching the store. He was sent to Williamson County Jail with the following charges:Â
- Aggravated Robbery
- Armed RobberyÂ
- Aggravated Assault
Stokes was found with a knife and large sum of money on him at the time of arrest.Â
The investigation is still open. Police remind the public Stokes is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.Â
