FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ill. -- One driver was sent to a hospital after a crash Saturday night on I-57 in Franklin County.
Anthony Pedro, 24, from Jonesboro, AR, was taken to the emergency room by an ambulance after his car flipped over. Fire officials have said an air extrication was needed to retrieve Pedro from the vehicle.聽
Police say Pedro's 2016 Jeep Cherokee drifted from the right side of the highway into the center guardrail, causing his vehicle to flip over into the middle of road.
The crash occurred in a construction zone near Mile Marker 68 between the Benton and West Frankfort exits of I-57 at around 11:50 p.m. Both lanes on the Northbound side of the highway were closed until about 2:00 a.m. this morning.
