Police, medical officials gather off E. Walnut Street in Carbondale

UPDATE -- 8:05 a.m. -- Police have updated the public that the crash site is clear.

ORIGINAL STORY -- 7:25 a.m. -- CARBONDALE, Ill. -- A heavy police presence was spotted in Carbondale on Friday morning. 

At least three police cars and an ambulance were seen tending to a car near the intersection of E. Walnut Street and S. Birchlane Dr. 

An update from the Carbondale Police Department said a crash occurred at the scene. Birchlane Dr. is blocked, but Walnut St. is open.

Video taken by a member of News 3 shows EMS talking to someone sitting in a car.
