CHARLESTON, Mo. -- A Sikeston man is in custody and faces charges in relation to a shooting which resulted in multiple people injured.
The shooting took place in Charleston, Missouri, on July 1. News 3 first told you about the incident in which six people were injured. This has now been adjusted to five injured in the shooting, according to the Charleston Department of Public Safety.
Charleston DPS stated they worked with other agencies in the area to determine Deshauntay Craig, 24 of Sikeston, as a suspect. According to the department, Craig faces a warrant from Mississippi County and formal charges for the following:
- Assault 1st Degree (5 counts)
- Armed criminal action (5 counts)
- Unlawful use of a Weapon
- Unlawful Possession of a Weapon
- Possession of a Stolen Vehicle
Craig currently sits in the Butler County Jail for unrelated charges. Officials say the investigation remains open, meaning Craig could face more charges in time.
