Two men arrested in Calloway County for house burglary

CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky. -- Deputies in Calloway County arrested two men after a burglary in their jurisdiction. 

James P. Burress, 46, and David W. Bugden, 46, from Murray, KY, were taken into custody as suspects to the January 27th crime. Officials arrived at the scene on Beat Farm Road shortly after the incident when the resident's owner informed them of a firearm and tools missing from his home, along with a busted open door.

The deputies investigating the situation obtained warrants that eventually led them to Burress' home on Tuesday. The missing items were found along with illegal drugs.  

Officials further investigated and believed Bugden was also connected to the burglary. They arrested him on Thursday. 

Both suspects are previously convicted felons. Burress was arrested in 2018 for drug charges, and Bugden was on bond from a November 2022 case.

    • Possession of Marijuana
    • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • David W. Bugden
    • Receiving Stolen Property- Firearm 4 counts
    • Receiving Stolen Property- %00-$1,000
    • Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
