JACKSON COUNTY, Ill. -- The Jackson County State's Attorney has revealed more information surrounding the investigation into a deadly shooting on Wednesday night in Murphysboro.

According to State's Attorney Joseph A. Cervantez, one victim died on the scene. That victim was Maurice Funchess, 29. As previously reported, Daron L. Woods is the primary suspect in the situation.

Now, Cervantez has revealed that a second victim was involved in the situation. Clyde Boozer reportedly got into an altercation with Woods, who stabbed Boozer during the fight. Cervantez suggests that Funchess sustained gun wounds while trying to stop the fight. Boozer was taken to the Carbondale Memorial Hospital for his injuries and has since been released.

As of 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, officials are still trying to locate Woods. Cervantez and Murphysboro Police both emphasize that Woods is armed and dangerous.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Woods.
