Tornado watch extended for eastern portion of southern Illinois and western Kentucky

A tornado watch has been extended to the western portion of Illinois and western Kentucky.

The National Weather Service issued the tornado watch at 9:50 p.m. through to 4 a.m. on April 21.

Tornadoes, hail and damaging winds up to 70 mph are possible.

The tornado watch has been extended for Hamilton, Saline, White, Edwards, Wabash, Hardin, Pope and Massac Counties in Illinois.

It is also in effect for the entire coverage area in western Kentucky.
