CARBONDALE, IL (WSIL) - It's hard to beat anybody in college football, let alone a ranked opponent.

(#11) Saluki football seeks better results against (#12) North Dakota State on Saturday

The 6-3 Salukis are just 1-2 against top 25 teams.

#11 Southern gets another top 15 matchup when they visit #12 North Dakota State on Saturday.

SIU is winless in the Fargodome and have lost 10 of the last 11 meetings against the Bison.

The Dawgs fell for the second time in three weeks to a ranked opponent on Saturday, dropping a 14-7 decision to #9 South Dakota at home.

The path to the playoffs does not get easier, but a Saluki win over the 12th ranked Bison could go a long way for Nick Hill's squad.

Both Southern and North Dakota State have the same records and are tied for sixth in the conference.

SIU head coach Nick Hill says both programs are in a similar spot with the regular season starting to come to a close.

Kickoff in North Dakota is on Saturday at 2:30pm.
