CARBONDALE (WSIL) -- SIU men's basketball is preparing for their conference opener against Evansville. They've been taking care of business on the court and in the classroom too, 3.75 GPA for the fall, with a cumulative team mark of 3.60.

We sometimes forget student first, athlete second.

After the SEMO game, the media asked Brendan Mullins about Lance Jones minutes. He reassured us Lance will be a monster for us and Coach was was right.

He's making smart decisions, getting guys involved when they are hot and knowing when to go get a bucket because his team needs it.

"Actually it's Coach Bryan and Coach Brendan, just watching film with those guys and learning from my mistakes," Jones said. "Seeing how I can improve over quarantine and seeing how I can impact the game on different levels. I feel I took that into consideration and worked hard at that so I try to do what is best for my team in the right moments."
