CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO - The SEMO baseball team earned the right to play in the NCAA tournament.

SEMO baseball ready for Fayetteville regional

Southeast Missouri beat Moorehead State last weekend in Marion to win the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament Title and earn the automatic bid.

The (#4) Redhawks will try and take down (#1)  Arkansas Friday afternoon in the Fayetteville Regional.

Saturday's win now allows the Redhawks to make their 6th NCAA tournament appearance in program history. It will be the first time the team is in the national tournament since the 2022 season.

The Redhawks won their third OVC championship over the last 4 years. This was the program's first title win in Southern Illinois.

SEMO is hopeful to keep the bats hot and the arms sharp heading into regional play.

"Regional week is my favorite week of the year. We get to have fun with the guys," said Senior Pitcher Kyle Miller. "This year, I feel we got a real shot at going to make some noise. We got an exciting club and a lot of guys are excited to play and are excited to be here and we are playing for each other so we are dangerous."

The NCAA tournament, like the OVC tournament is double-elimination style. If the red and black fall short in game one, they are promised a second game before being bounced from the tournament.
