High school sports in Illinois will be taking a temporary pause due to COVID-19.
The Illinois High School Association will be deferring all decisions regarding its “Return to Play� guidelines to state organizations and the governor’s office.
The Board also determined that summer contact days are suspended for this year, unless state government and medical leaders indicate such gatherings are safe.
The Illinois High School Association says it will cancel remaining boys state basketball championship games along with all other winter sports amid COVID-19 concerns.
