(WSIL) -- Local health departments announced new cases of COVID-19 in 13 southern Illinois counties Monday.
Southern Seven Health Department reported 41 new cases in its region, with Johnson and Union counties having 12 and 16 new cases, respectively.
The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) announced 1,612 new cases of COVID-19 in the state Monday, including eight additional confirmed deaths.
Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 221,790 cases, including 7,888 deaths, in Illinois.
ALEXANDER COUNTY
- One female in 10s
Alexander County has had 40 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Three of the cases are currently active.
FRANKLIN COUNTY
- Female: One teen, one in her 50s and one in her 60s
- Male: One in his 60s
Franklin County has had 292 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including one death. Of the positive cases, health officials say 179 have recovered.
JACKSON COUNTY
- Female: One teen, one in her 30s, two in their 40s and two in their 60s
- Male: One teen, one in his 20s and two in their 60s
Jackson County Health Department reported ten new cases of COVID-19 Monday.
To date, there have been 858 confirmed cases in the county, including 20 related deaths. The health department says 72 active cases are currently being managed.
HAMILTON COUNTY
- Female: One in her 40s
- Male: One in his 50s and one in his 70s
Hamilton County has had 47 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including one death. Health officials say seven people are currently isolating at home, while 39 others have recovered.
JEFFERSON COUNTY
Saturday, Aug. 22: 3 new cases
- Male: One in his 30s, one in his 50s and one in his 60s
Sunday, Aug. 23: 14 new cases
- Female: One teen, three in their 20s, one in her 30s, one in her 50s, two in their 60s and three in their 70s
- Male: Two in their 20s and one in his 40s
Monday, Aug. 24: 8 new cases
- Female: One under 13, one teen, one in her 20s, one in her 30s and two in their 40s
- Male: One in his 20s and one in his 40s
Jefferson County Health Department reported 25 new cases of COVID-19 since Friday. Eight of the new cases came on Monday.
The health department also announced three additional deaths at long term care facilities.
To date, Jefferson County has had 424 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 30 deaths. There are 75 active cases currently in isolation.
JOHNSON COUNTY
- Female: One in 10s, one in her 30s, one in her 40s, one in her 50s and one in her 70s
- Male: Two in their 30s, one in his 50s, two in their 60s and two in their 70s
Southern Seven Health reported 12 new cases of COVID-19 in Johnson County Monday. To date, there have been 101 confirmed cases in the county. Twenty-five cases are currently active.
MASSAC COUNTY
- Female: One in her 30s, one in her 50s, one in her 60s and one in her 70s
- Male: One in his 20s, one in his 30s, one in his 50s and one in his 80s
Eight new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Massac County on Monday. There have been 57 confirmed cases in the county. Health officials say 14 cases are currently active.
PERRY COUNTY
Friday, Aug. 21: 2 new cases
- Female: One in her 40s and one in her 50s
Saturday, Aug. 22: 9 new cases
- Female: One under the age of 18, one in her 20s, one in her 30s, one in her 50s and one in her 70s
- Male: One in his 30s, two in their 50s and one in his 70s
Sunday, Aug. 23: 11 new cases
- Female: One under the age of 18 and four in their 20s
- Male: One under the age of 18, one in his 20s, one in his 30s, one in his 40s and two in their 50s
Monday, Aug. 24: 5 new cases
- Female: Two in their 20s and one in her 90s
- Male: One in his 20s and one in his 80s
The Perry County Health Department reported 27 new cases of COVID-19 since their last release on Thursday. Five of the new cases came on Monday.
Perry County has had 278 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including six deaths. Currently, there are 83 active cases. Health officials say 189 other individuals have been released from isolation.
PULASKI COUNTY
- Female: One in her 60s
- Male: Two in their 20s and one in his 60s
There have been 106 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Pulaski County, including one death. Health officials say seven of the cases are currently active.
SALINE COUNTY
- One female in her 60s
Egyptian Health Department says the woman is at home in isolation. Saline County has had 155 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including three deaths.
UNION COUNTY
- Female: Three in their 20s, one in her 30s, two in their 50s, three in their 60s and two in their 70s
- Male: One in 10s, one in his 20s, two in their 50s and one in his 60s
Southern Seven Health Department reported 16 new cases of COVID-19 in Union County Monday.
To date, there have been 387 confirmed cases, including 20 deaths, in the county. The health department says 58 cases are currently active.
WHITE COUNTY
- One female in her 20s
Egyptian Health Department says the woman is at home in isolation. White County has had 113 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
WILLIAMSON COUNTY
- Female: One teen, one in her 30s, one in her 40s and one in her 60s
- Male: One in his 20s, one in his 50s, one in his 60s and one in his 70s
There have been 741 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Williamson County, including nine deaths. Health officials say, of the positive cases, 414 individuals have recovered.
