83 new COVID-19 cases reported in southern Illinois

(WSIL) -- Health departments in southern Illinois are reporting 83 new COVID-19 cases in Southern Illinois on Sunday, December 27.

Franklin County:

  • Females: One toddler, two teens, one in their 20's, one in their 40’s, two in their 60’s.
  • Males: Three in their 50’s, two in their 60’s and one in their 70’s.

To date, there have been a total of 3,293 laboratory confirmed positives in Franklin county of COVID-19 and 41 total deaths. Of these positive cases, 1,635 have recovered.

Jackson County:

  • Females: One under 10, three in their 20's, four in their 30's, two in their 40's, one in their 50's, two in their 60's, and on in her 90's.
  • Males: Two under 10, four in their 20's, one in his 30's, three in their 40's, one in his 50's, and one in his 70's.

Health officials are currently monitoring 50 active cases. Jackson County has had 3,558 total cases, including 55 related deaths. Of these positive cases, 3,153 individuals released from isolation, including 25 Sunday.

Randolph County:

  • 26 cases
  • Genders/ages not listed

Randolph County has had 3,189 confirmed cases, including 43 residents who have passed away. Health officials are currently monitoring 211 cases. So far, 2,935 individuals have been released from isolation.

Saline County:

  • Female: One in their 50's
  • Male: One in their 40's, one in their 80's

To date, Saline County has had a total of 1,811 lab confirmed positives, including 29 deaths.

White County:

  • Female: one in their 50’s
  • Male: one in their 20’s, one in their 80’s

According to the Egyptian Health Department, White County has had a total of 1,165 lab-confirmed positives, including 18 deaths.

Williamson County:

  • Females: One toddler, one under 10, four in their 20’s, two in their 30’s, two in their 40’s, one in their 50’s, two in their 60’s, one in their 70’s and one in their 80’s.
  • Males: One toddler, three under 10, two in their 40’s and two in their 70’s.

To date, there have been a total of 5,148 laboratory confirmed positives in Williamson county, including 99 deaths. Of these positive cases, 2,678 have recovered.

Illinois Department of Public Health:

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 3,767 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus disease Sunday, including 104 additional deaths.

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 937,909 cases, including 15,969 deaths across the state.
