87 new cases of COVID-19 in southern Illinois

(WSIL) -- Health departments in southern Illinois are reporting 87 new cases of the virus on Sunday, January 17 2021.

Franklin County:

  • Females: one teenager, one in their 40’s, three in their 50’s and one in their 70’s.
  • Males: one teenager, one in their 20’s, one in their 30’s and two in their 70’s.

To date, there have been a total of 3,913 laboratory confirmed positives in Franklin county of COVID-19, including 53 deaths. Of these positive cases, 2,331.

Gallatin County:

  • Female: 1 in their 70’s
  • Male: 1 in their 70’s

Gallatin County has a total of 427 lab-confirmed positives of COVID-19, including three deaths.

Jackson County:

  • Female: 1 teen, 1 in her forties, 2 in their fifties, and 2 in their sixties.
  • Male: 1 in his twenties, 1 in his thirties, 3 in their forties, 1 in his fifties, and 2 in their sixties

Health officials are currently monitoring 309 active cases. Jackson County has had 4,200 cases to date, with 64 related deaths. Of those cases, 3,827 individuals released from isolation, including 23 Sunday.

Randolph County:

  • 21 new cases
  • Genders/Ages not provided

Health officials are monitoring 171 active cases. Randolph County has had 3,730 confirmed cases including 66 residents who have passed away. Of those positive cases, 3,493 have been released from isolation.

Saline County:

  • Female: 1 in their teens, 2 in their 20’s, 1 in their 40’s
  • Male: 1 in their teens, 1 in their 20’s, 1 in their 30’s, 2 in their 70’s

To date, Saline County has had a total of 2,161 lab confirmed positives, including 38 deaths.

White County:

  • Female: 1 under the age of 10, 1 in their 20’s, 2 in their 80’s
  • Male: 1 in their 30’s, 1 in their 40’s, 1 in their 80’s

Williamson County:

  • Females: one infant, one toddler, one tween, one teenager, two in their 20’s, one in their 30’s, two in their 40’s, two in their 50’s, one in their 60’s and one in their 80’s.
  • Males: one teenager, five in their 20’s, three in their 30’s and one in their 80’s.

To date, there have been a total of 6,364 laboratory confirmed positives in Williamson county, including 104 deaths. Of these positive cases, 3,552 have recovered.

Illinois Department of Public Health:

IDPH reported 4,162 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus disease Sunday, including 29 additional deaths.

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 1,068,829 cases, including 18,208 deaths across the state.
