At least five new COVID-19 deaths reported in southern Illinois Monday

(WSIL) -- Overall new cases of COVID-19 are lower than in recent days despite some health departments not reporting data since New Year's Eve.

Cape Girardeau, MO County Health Department: 5 deaths, 86 new positive and probable cases

Deaths below include 2 Long-Term Care Facility residents

Egyptian Health Department: 36 new positives

  • Saline County
    • Female: 1 in their teens, 1 in their 20’s, 4 in their 30’s, 3 in their 40’s, 1 in their 80’s
    • Male: 1 in their teens, 2 in their 30’s, 2 in their 40’s, 1 in their 50’s, 1 demographics unknown case status in progress
  • Gallatin County
    • Female: 1 in their 50’s, 2 demographics unknown-case status in progress

  • White County

  • Williamson County
    • Females: one toddler, four teenagers, six in their 20’s, five in their 30’s, three in their 40’s, one in their 50’s, five in their 60’s, two in their 70’s and one in their 80’s.
