CDC: 47% of Illinois adults are fully vaccinated

(WSIL) -- Health departments across southern Illinois are reporting 24 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, May 22, 2021.

Franklin County:

  • 8 new cases
  • Total Cases: 4600
  • Total Deaths: 69

Jackson County:

  • Female: one under ten
  • Male: one in his twenties

Health officials are currently monitoring 37 active cases. Jackson County has had 5,120 cases to date, with 73 related deaths. So far, 5,010 individuals released from isolation, including 9 Saturday.

Saline County:

  • Female: 1 in their teens, 1 in their 50’s, 1 in their 60’s
  • Male: 1 in their 20’s

To date, Saline County has had a total of 2,749 lab confirmed positives, including 54 deaths.

White County:

  • Female: 1 in their 20’s

White County has had a total of 1,808 lab-confirmed positives, including 27 deaths.

Williamson County:

  • 9 new cases
  • Total Cases: 7719
  • Total Deaths: 125

Illinois Department of Public Health:

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 1,108 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus disease Saturday, including 43 additional deaths. 

In addition, 64% of Illinois adults have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose and 47% of Illinois adults are fully vaccinated, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 1,374,565 cases, including 22,599 deaths across the state.

A total of 10,843,665 vaccines have been administered.
