(WEEK) -- State public health officials are reporting 7,983 new COVID-19 cases in the last week, as well as an additional 47 deaths related to the virus.
The Illinois Department of Public Health's Friday report brings the state's total amount of cases to 1,407,929 and the death toll to 23,401.

As of Thursday night, 670 individuals in Illinois were reportedly hospitalized with COVID-19, with 135 of those being in the ICU and 44 were on ventilators.
The state's rolling positivity rate is being reported at 3.5%, which is up from the 2.3% that was reported on July 1.
The IDPH is also reporting 58% of Illinois adults have been fully vaccinated, while 73% have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
In the last week, 139,495 doses were administered statewide.
