ELDORADO (WSIL) -- Eldorado is back on track for the 4th of July with a fireworks display to take off from a new location to allow spectators adequate space for social distancing.
The fireworks will light up the sky from the Compressed Energy Systems property, located on the southwest side of U.S. 45.
Also different from previous years, there will be no food vendors or live music, and viewers are asked to remain in their cars.
Organizers say they understand the changes aren't ideal but that the event is a nice step towards normalcy.
"We've talked to the city, we've talked to a lot of our donors, and everyone is excited that we're going to be able to do the event," said Robby Price, Treasurer of the Eldorado Men's Club who sponsor the firework display each year.
"Everyone understands that we had to make the change, and we haven't had any complaints that we've had to move it; they're just excited that we're able to do it and provide this for the citizens," says Price.
Currently viewers are allowed to park at Dover Management Group, but the city is still working with other businesses for additional parking.
Organizers plan for fireworks to return to the Sports Complex next year.
Eldorado isn't the only community still keeping with 4th of July plans; the Knights of Columbus in Marion are also .
