CHICAGO (WSIL) Students in Illinois will be out of school longer expected.

On Friday, Governor JB Pritzker said schools in Illinois would be closed through April 7, instead of March 30 as previously announced.

The change came as Gov. Pritzker signed a statewide that runs from 5 p.m. Saturday, March 21 through April 7.

The order is an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19 in Illinois.
