JEFFERSON COUNTY (WSIL) -- The Jefferson County Health Department has confirmed a third positive case of COVID-19 within Jefferson County.
The health department was notified late Sunday afternoon, April 5, of a male patient in his 60s from Jefferson County. The man is in isolation at a local hospital with appropriate precautions being taken.
An investigation of the case has begun and Jefferson County health officials are speaking with individuals who the man may have encountered before the diagnosis. Those people may be placed in quarantine if they are determined to have had significant exposure. If you are contacted by public health officials, please respond promptly.
Public Health officials expect more positive cases to be confirmed locally, as the number of tests being conducted increases daily. The situation is rapidly changing and the health department will release information as it becomes available.
