CARTERVILLE, Ill (WSIL) -- This week is National Apprenticeship Week to recognize programs that lead to lifetime careers.
News 3 spoke to an educator at John A. Logan College who told us their most popular apprenticeship program is manufacturing.
But due to the coronavirus the school has not been able to do their normal recruiting.
"They're important because, again, it's something that the employers are seeking more training for their workforce. It's also a way for our students to potentially be working the field where they want to get their degree from and get real world experience," said John A. Logan Associate Dean of Career and Technical Education Scott Wernsman.
