MURPHYSBORO, ILL (WSIL) -- Murphysboro High School will hold two vaccine clinics this month.
That's in addition to the clinic they held Wednesday. Jackson County families with children 12 and older were able to get their shot. The Jackson County Health Department says it's just one of school vaccination efforts in Southern Illinois. They say clinics at schools are a good choice for children. Since, they can get their vaccine in a familiar setting.
"A lot of people are more comfortable coming to the schools, they're more familiar with it, it's just another location we can bring them to. A lot of schools have summer programs, they're already here, so since they're here we thought it would be good to set up and make that contact." said Kassidy Phoenix with Jackson Co. Health Department.
The next clinic is Thursday at Elkville High School from 1 pm to 6 pm. They'll also have another clinic at Murphysboro High School on June 30th from 9 am to 1 pm. Officials say you don't need an appointment for either.
