(WSIL) - Several southern Illinois counties reported new cases of COVID-19 Monday.
Cases were reported in Franklin, Hamilton, Jackson, Jefferson, Massac, Perry, Randolph, Union, Wayne and Williamson counties.
- Franklin County - one teenager
There have been 14 total cases of COVID-19 in Franklin County. Health officials say 12 of those individuals have recovered.
- Hamilton County - one man in his 60s
This is the fourth confirmed case of COVID-19 in Hamilton County. The health department there says two people have recovered, one is currently isolating at home, and one is in the hospital.
- Jackson County - one male preteen/teen
Health officials say the preteen/teen acquired COVID-19 through contact with a known case. He is the 328th confirmed case in the county, which has also seen 19 related deaths. There are currently 15 active cases being managed.
- Jefferson County - one male teen
Jefferson County has had five new positive COVID-19 cases since the beginning of the month, bringing its current total to 109 confirmed cases. Only two cases are currently active.
- Massac County - one man in his 30s, one woman in her 50s
Massac County has seen 11 total COVID-19 cases. Four of those cases are currently active.
- Perry County - one woman in her 20s
There have been 50 total cases of COVID-19 and one related death in Perry County. The health department reports five cases are currently active.
- Randolph County - three new cases
Randolph County officials say the three new cases are the only known active cases in the county. The individuals are recovering at home. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 282 people in Randolph County have tested positive for COVID-19. Seven of those individuals died.
- Union County - one woman in her 30s
There are currently 51 active cases of COVID-19 in Union County. In all, health officials report a total of 179 cases and 19 related deaths in the county.
- Wayne County - one man in his 40s
The man is the 13th confirmed case of COVID-19 in Wayne County. Health officials say one person confirmed to have the virus passed away; ten others have recovered.
- Williamson County - two males in their 20s, one female in her 20s, one female in her 40s, one male in his 50s
To date, there have been 117 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and four deaths in Williamson County. Of the positive cases, 75 have recovered.
On Monday, the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) announced announced 738 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 14 additional confirmed deaths.
Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 142,461 cases, including 14 deaths, in 101 counties in Illinois.
