(WSIL) -- The Hands of Hope Foundation in Marion is partnering with several barbecue restaurants from around the region to help give back to those on the front lines of the fight against COVID-19.
is planning to provide meals for health care workers, law enforcement, paramedics and first responders.
Reverend Troy Benitone sees this as a way to give back to those putting themselves in harm's way during this difficult time.
"Altogether we'll serve almost 4,000 meals to frontline health care workers, to first responders, fire, paramedics, and local law enforcement officers. If you have a badge and you're a law enforcement officer in that zone, if you're a fire or paramedic or if you're a local healthcare provider and you have an ID, a meal will be there waiting for you," Benitone said.
Meals of Hope will be provided at:
- Heartland Regional Medical Center, Marion (Tuesday, April 28 4-8pm)
- SIH Herrin Hospital (Thursday, April 30, 4-8pm)
- SIH Saint Joseph Memorial Hospital, Murphysboro (Tuesday, May 5, 4-8pm)
- SIH Memorial Hospital Carbondale (Thursday, May 7, 4-8pm)
