PINCKNEYVILLE (WSIL) -- Pinckneyville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center announces 18 COVID-19 cases at the facility.
The announcement made on says those cases are among three staff members and 15 residents.
The post goes on to say that among the individuals positive, one staff member and one resident are symptomatic.
All other individuals are asymptomatic.
According to Pinckneyville Nursing and Rehabilitation the families of residents who tested positive have been notified.
While staff members will remain at home in isolation.
Scott Stout with WLC Management Firm tells News 3, "Even though only one resident and one staff member are symptomatic, we are taking extra precautions. The positive residents have been moved to an isolated wing. "
"Our staff have followed all procedures related to PPE and we have now increased this to wearing isolation gowns and full face shields along with face masks. The care of our residents is our top priority," Stout added.
