Pritzker says he won’t rule out return to work incentives

(WREX) � Four states across the country are giving Americans incentives to get off of unemployment and return to work. Illinois could be added to that list of states.

Illinois Governor JB Pritzker says he won't rule out any kind of return to work incentives.

Currently, Kentucky, Arizona, Montana, New Hampshire and Oklahoma are paying out bonuses to encourage people to return to the workforce.

The governor says he will not get rid of the federal unemployment benefits, like some Republican-led states have done.

Pritzker says some Illinoisans are out there with legitimate reasons for remaining on unemployment.

Speaking during an unrelated press conference on Monday, Pritzker noted a "big consideration" is making sure whether enough child care is available for parents who hope to head back to the workplace.

On Wednesday, the  a expansion of financial assistance for both families and providers that will help allow allow children to return to quality, affordable child care programs.
